Carroz Night 900   Snow…..

Quite simply, the linked resorts Les Carroz, Samoens, Morillon and Flaine, have a great snow record – this from the Telegraph: “… Nearby Mont Blanc acts as a giant fridge. Despite its modest altitude – the Grandes Plattières ridge at the top of the ski area is at 2,480m – Flaine has a more reliable snow record than any other resort in Europe.”

Skiing

At 265 kms this huge ski area rivals Val d’Isere and Tignes in size but is significantly less expensive.

And there really is something for everyone including:

  • best value-for-money ski pass in France (more piste per Euro!)
  • when everywhere else is shut…. Les Carroz is open!
  • Les Carroz has a superb range of piste ability
  • Les Carroz has superb tree skiing
  • Les Carroz has floodlit, night-time skiing twice a week (7-10pm)
  • Les Carroz in particular has some fantastic off piste
  • Les Carroz has tandem parapente flights from the top of the Coin Coin (spectacular views)

then from Les Carroz, the Heart of the Grand Massif, access is available to:

  • the Marvel – a 5km green run that winds through the trees of Morillon with sudden, spectacular views. Keep your eyes open for the legendary Dahu – a creature with short left legs and long ones on the right which enables him to navigate the mountain, fast, but only in an anti clockwise direction. (You can see him in the gallery below!!)
  • 10 Mile (15km) blue run ‘Cascade’ off the Grands Plattieres in Flaine
  • Click here to see our ski the Grand Massif video
  • Jam Park (for kids and courageous parents) in Samoens
  • Boarder Cross and Jam Park in Flaine
  • the huge, tireless and (even after 10 years of skiing) still-exciting, off-piste Gers bowl – experts only!

What People Say…..

“One of the best points about the trip was the fast easy access from Geneva: from landing we were on the autoroute within 30 minutes, and the drive took a mere 45 minutes. If conditions hadn’t been so great, it would have been easy to drive somewhere else for the day e.g 1 hour to the Portes du Soleil. We’ll be back!”

“My future wife and I stumbled across Lez Carroz 15 years ago. It is one of the friendliest resorts in Europe. After skiing around Europe we have returned on many occasions to Les Carroz with our children as it has one of the best ski schools in France. The new 8 person high speed lift system whisks you to a 266km ski area within minutes.”

“Great family holiday in early March 06. Good snow cover and topped up with lots more during our stay. Great kids instructors at Nouvelle Dimension. Good picnic area at top of gondola from Les Carroz and quite a number of on slope restaurants to keep you pinned to the slopes all day long. Best snow record of any European resort according to the Daily Telegraph.”
